Stephen leads WJM Engineering’s engineering consulting practice with responsibilities including strategy, marketing, finance, human resources, technology, and operations. Since his involvement in the startup phase of the company, he has evaluated and implemented several advanced technological systems to improve company operations which have improved client outcomes and company performance. He has implemented a growth strategy that includes marketing professional services to new clients and seamlessly onboarding new team members. Operationally, he has developed standard operating procedures and internal quality control systems to operate the business more effectively and improve the quality and accuracy of project deliverables for clients.
As a structural engineer, Stephen has over 15 years of experience in the design of steel, reinforced and post-tensioned concrete, light gauge, and wood framed structures for institutional, cultural, industrial, and residential clients. Projects he has designed vary from custom residential projects under $1 million to an institutional high-rise project with a total construction cost of $216 million. His projects include new structures, rehabilitation, and repair of existing structures, many of which have won DVASE Excellence in Structural Engineering Awards. He has served as an expert witness for several construction defect litigation cases. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, and Maryland. Stephen holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Penn State University, and a Master of Science in Civil Engineering from Villanova University. He is an active member of various industry groups including the Delaware Valley Association of Structural Engineers (DVASE) and the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE).
